Feeling Hot, Hot, Hot...

So after a long day of conferencing, working out (running and swimming) and dinner with a co-worker (salad with Blueberries, mozarella, the safe kind of tomatoes and blueberry vinegarette..yum...and a to-go Peanut Butter Pie slice for later when I was watching the last hour of SYTYCD...jealous), we were walking back from dinner and what rolls up but a B&B Towing Truck with the windows rolled down and the 30 something year old MALE, blasting not rap, not metal...but the oldie and apparently still goodie...."Feeling HOT HOT HOT"!...and to top it off he was bouncing his head like he was listening to a frickin' Metallica song...HILARIOUS...and as if that wasn't motivation enough to get anyone in a good mood, suddenly from above, someone had turned on a bubble-machine and bubbles were cascading down from a second story window to everyone below on the corner...have to say AWESOME...only wish I had pictures to capture the 'moment'..because it was quite the funny warmfuzzy moment of the week! Ah Boston you make me smile!

Two Showerheads Are Better Than One

So as you know, I'm in Boston this week for a work conference. I bitched yesterday about the state of my 'Artic Suite' of a hotel room...however, what I neglected to highlight, and didn't learn about until this morning, was the awesome and somewhat non-sensical 'dual showerhead' in the bathroom. Yes, we've all heard of dual showerheads before..typically either a shower head at each end of the shower to get 'back to front' action or to share with a 'friend' or even the dual showerheads where one is in the traditional position on the wall in front of you and the other overhead like a 'rain water'...well, this was neither....

HUH?

Salad and Strawberry Ice Cream

Okay...so after all the bitchin' I just did about my day...room service just arrived and everything is now right in the world...while I'm not sure about the skirt steak salad (see the steak not so much the salad part)...I'm in awe of the fact they gave me a Pint...that's right one whole piggy pint of Strawberry Ice Cream...oh the delicious indulgent humanity....it's mine...all mine...hmmm...maybe I'll be skipping my workout tonight (oh I'll be working out all right just not my cardio...more like my stomach and biceps - from lifting the spoon)..Oink Oink...love it!

A Hotel's a Hotel right?

Okay, so I finally made it to Boston for the big DIA Conference for my work. It was quite a day...the flight was an hour late taking off from San Diego, sat next to 2 very nice people (though didn't say more than 'excuse me' and 'bless you' until the last 20 minutes of the trip..I know...just call me social butterfly);

Had the flight attendant tell the woman next to me she 'never eats plane food' when asked how the sandwhiches are (which by the way I had just purchased one for $6..thanks company spokesperson..way to sell your product);

Endured a frustrating taxi ride to the wrong hotel on the wrong street (and of course I didn't notice until the taxi driver had taken my money and already off with another sucker, er fare in back) but decided to make the best of it and walked (yes that's right I hoofed it) about 20 minutes to the right hotel;

Made it up stairs to my hotel room where apparently I requested the Artic Suite because I am freezing my asterik off right now even though I turned up the thermostat over 15 minutes ago....oh and did I mention I'm starving and am waiting for my salad and strawberry ice cream to arrive from room service...Hey, I deserve a treat. And after all that I still have to go and work out (run Forrest run) and then hopefully fall into blissful sleep.

Oh Oh...and get this, this is funny...so the name of the hotel I'm staying at is the Westin "WATERFRONT"....so I think, cool, let me check out my view....

Yeah...par for the course...I got the view of streets but off in the distance I think I can see some water..yeah there in front...ah that's what they meant by "Waterfront".

Alright...enough of the pity party...tomorrow and the rest of the week should be good and hopefully somewhat fun. I'll try to take some pics of Boston and maybe some of the fun conference stuff I get to do...whoo hoo!

And so it begins....

The start of me laggin' on my blog. Had a feeling I might end up in this way. Great intentions...poor follow through. Had visions of commenting on Twitchington from So You Think You Can Dance (affectionately known as SYTYCD by me and my sister) and the awesome Salad Bar my sister Moira provided for dinner last Wednesday...yes I said last Wednesday.

Had dreams of talking endlessly about me finally doing a home improvement project (or at least overseeing it or actually planning for it...hasn't happened yet though did finally order materials)...new laminate flooring. Had hopes of getting pictures up from all the blogs I was going to do but haven't.

Well, lag no more from me. I'm ready to blog blog blog away. I'm mean tomorrow...yeah tomorrow...I'm ready to blog tomorrow (or maybe tonight)...guess you'll have to wait and see.

BTW: Me writing this really quick during my lunch hour has nothing to do with the fact that Moira said she is boycotting blogging until I update mine...nope not at all!

Ah Crap!

Lesson 1: Save your postings before navigating away from the page. Dang it! This blogging thing was suppose to be easy breezy...had the most delicious soliloquy of elegant introduction all crafted, and I forgot to SAVE. Okay, so maybe it wasn't Martha Stewart crafty...but it was fairly witty. But that's neither here nor there because it's not here anymore and I'm not going to re-craft it to post over there.

Instead, I'll make this short and sweet. Blogging is new to me. At least from the action of writing instead of reading. I read blogs, I love blogs...blogs make me feel like I'm in a one-sided pen pal relationship. I get to catch up with all my 'friends', read about their lives (or their pets lives), see pictures and learn about new things. That's what I am hoping to do. To become someone's one-sided pen pal. To share things going on in my life; either in my head (hey someone's got to live there) or in real life. Share pictures and stories of my friends and family and just be me.

I hope you keep me in mind, and keep me honest. Because as much as I think this is a 'cool' thing to do right now...best intentions and poor follow through seem to be my trend as of late...Okay...that's it for the moment....now I am going to gently push the SAVE NOW button.
